Awards and Recognitions
Recognition isn’t something we chase for its own sake, but when independent organisations and global brand partners take note of what we’re doing well, it’s worth sharing. Over the years, Hayleys Fabric PLC has been recognised for quality, ethical practice and sustainability by a range of external bodies, from professional accounting institutes to environmental authorities, each evaluating a different part of how the business runs. Below are some of the accolades that mean the most to us, not because of the trophy itself, but because of the independent scrutiny that came with earning it.
Chairman's Awards 2019
Hayleys Fabric was named Overall Winner within the Hayleys Group for an outstanding demonstration of skill, knowledge and innovation. The achievement centred on a disused 10-bay stenter machine, worth over USD 1,100,000 new, that our Engineering Team reconstructed and upgraded with the latest technical control systems for a fraction of that cost, USD 255,349. Just as notably, the team commissioned the rebuilt stenter in three months, compared to the 12 to 13 months a new stenter would typically take to source and install, meeting the business’s requirements far faster than a standard replacement ever could have.
Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards
Hayleys Fabric PLC won the bronze award for Best Integrated Report Design at the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA) 2019 in Singapore. Held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event’s guest of honour was Niclas Kvarnström, Swedish Ambassador to Singapore, and drew over 200 senior business leaders, sustainability partners, academics, trade associations and advocacy organisations from across the region.
CASL Award
Hayleys Fabric PLC was awarded Silver in the Manufacturing sector (turnover above Rs. 5 Bn category) at the 54th Annual Report Awards, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka together with the Colombo Stock Exchange on 4 December 2018. The award rewards excellence in annual reporting, with growing emphasis on transparency, good governance, sustainability and social responsibility, expecting entrants to go well beyond routine regulatory reporting.
SAFA Award
Hayleys Fabric PLC was awarded a merit certificate in the Manufacturing sector at the SAFA (South Asian Federation of Accountants) Annual Report Awards, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh on 27 January 2017.
CA Sri Lanka Award
Hayleys Fabric PLC was awarded Bronze in the Manufacturing sector at the 52nd Annual Report Awards, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka together with the Colombo Stock Exchange on 6 December 2016, an award that places increasing emphasis on transparency, good governance, sustainability and social responsibility.
CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards - 51st
Hayleys Fabric PLC, then known as Hayleys MGT Knitting Mills PLC, was awarded Bronze in the Manufacturing sector at the 51st Annual Report Awards, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka together with the Colombo Stock Exchange on 3 December 2015, recognising entrants who go beyond routine regulatory reporting to present a holistic review of performance.
