Ethics and Culture

A culture of integrity isn’t something a company can claim credibly through a mission statement alone, it has to show up in how decisions actually get made. At Hayleys Fabric Group, our ethical principles are meant to guide day-to-day conduct across the organisation, not sit in a policy binder that only gets referenced when something goes wrong.

Our Ethical Foundation

Integrity, accountability and respect anchor how we expect employees at every level to operate, from the factory floor to senior management. That means fairness in how decisions are made, transparency in how they’re communicated, and responsible conduct across every operational area, whether that’s how a supplier dispute gets resolved or how a promotion decision gets justified.
That includes a clear stance against bribery and corruption in all forms, whether in supplier negotiations, regulatory dealings, or internal procurement decisions. Employees are expected to decline gifts, favours or arrangements that could compromise impartial decision-making, and any conflict of interest is expected to be disclosed rather than managed quietly. Our governance practices are aligned with the ICASL / SEC Code of Best Practice on Corporate Governance, giving external structure to what might otherwise be left to individual judgement.

Speaking Up Without Fear

An ethical culture only works if people can raise concerns without risk to themselves. We encourage open communication and provide channels for employees to report concerns about conduct, safety, or compliance, with the expectation that issues raised in good faith are taken seriously rather than dismissed or, worse, held against the person who raised them. That openness is part of what keeps small issues from developing into larger ones, and it depends on trust between employees and management being actively maintained rather than assumed.

A Safe, Inclusive Workplace

Ethics and culture also show up in how inclusive a workplace actually is day to day. We work to promote a safe and inclusive environment where employees are treated with respect regardless of role, gender, or background, and where professional behaviour is expected consistently rather than enforced selectively. Embedding that standard across a workforce of thousands, spread across multiple shifts and departments, takes ongoing reinforcement rather than a single onboarding session.
That reinforcement happens through regular training and communication rather than a code of conduct signed once at the point of hire and never revisited. Standards around fair treatment, harassment, and professional conduct are reiterated as part of ongoing employee development, so that ethical expectations stay current as the workforce grows and as new situations inevitably, arise that a written policy alone couldn’t have anticipated.
This ethical foundation supports more than internal culture, it underpins the trust our brand partners, investors and regulators place in Hayleys Fabric as a business. In an industry where a single ethics failure at any point in the supply chain can undo years of relationship-building with a global brand, treating integrity as an operational discipline rather than a marketing message is, in a very direct sense, a business necessity.
